Trade in Ancient times: from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic
A trade emporium
What we find here is a long-standing trading post which would continue to grow with the passing of the centuries and the inclusion of the north-west among the trade routes of the ancient world which extended across the mainland Atlantic coast from the Mediterranean.
Materials from such far-away places as Palestine, Tunisia, the Italian peninsula, Sardinia or the southern Iberian peninsula arrived here.
It was a place for the exchange of goods as well as a meeting point where cultures, ideas and people converged.
